THE MOST POPULAR RESTAURANTS IN PRAGUE
Forget about Mc´Donald´s! It would be almost a crime not to try some of the many restaurants when being in Prague. You cannot put your food in it. Most of the restaurants, bars and cafes not only in Prague are basicaly good - they offer delicious food of many kinds and also service and interiors are fine. We are almost sure that in many sorts of cuisine which is prepared in Czech restaurants you find food which will be close to your heart and above all close to your stomach ;-) And what is the most advantageos, Czech restaurants have good prices! Make certain of it yourself...


Before reading our list of places where to eat in Prague, we would like to give you some general information about Czechs, food and restaurants:

  • traditional Czech food is pork served with dumplings and sauerkraut (knedlo, vepro, zelo), as a starter hot soup and a glass of beer
  • people in the Czech republic are used to say "Dobrou chut" before eating (something like "get an apetite")
  • if you are a man, always enter a restaurant, pub or bar as the first one and your lady following you
  • it is not obligatory to give a tip, however, it is proper and everyone do it. The service would have to be very awful when you decide not to give a tip. The height of the tip you give depends on your satisfaction. Usually it is 5% of the total cost
